Site-Specific

Tracy’s site-specific projects are one to three-word messages that are painted at specific sites throughout urban, suburban, and rural settings. Placement of these messages are not random acts but purposeful to provoke thought, reflection, and discussion in relationship to their immediate environment. Times Roman font is used to help contrive a kind of signage, advertisement, title, story, and/or poem. Some sites include red dots which acts as a kind of bulls-eye. The red dot is also acts like a reference point and/or signifier prompting viewers to reflect on identity, culture, race, society, domesticity, or the environment. This creative act between the viewer and each site offers a personal connection reflecting what is being read, felt, seen, and understood in relationship to the site.
