Markus Tracy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and a Master of Fine Arts from the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.

Markus emerged as an interdisciplinary artist with a socially engaged practice focusing on murals, installations, teaching artistry, and site-specific projects. While producing and exhibiting his studio and performance work, Markus continues to be awarded commissions, grants, and artist-in-residencies throughout the United States.

Markus is also a teaching artist who is listed in the teaching artist rosters of: Nevada Arts Council, Utah Division of Arts & Museums, South Dakota Arts Council, North Dakota Council On the Arts, South Carolina Arts Commission, Tennessee Arts Commission, Arkansas Arts Council, Mississippi Arts Commission and for the non-profit organization, Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts , Arts Teach in Costa Mesa, California.

Markus currently lives in Palm Desert, California where he enjoys his down time with family and friends exploring the arts, cultural, and culinary scenes of Riverside County.
