The overall History of Kimball mural design was a cross quilt pattern representing Kimball’s history starting from the first settlers, to include the Hutterite Colony. The composition included community events and celebrations, history of farming, the railway system, Native American symbolism, Kimball School District, and the Kimball Veterans Memorial. The most important part of the mural was to celebrate the community like no other in comparison to other communities of South Dakota.
Thank you to Kimball School District Superintendent Dr. Chris Noid, Principal Matt Dykstra, PreSchool/Jr Kindergarten teacher Stephanie McCord in helping to organize the mural project, and to teachers and staff at the Kimball School District. Special thanks to the community of Kimball as well as to the South Dakota Arts Council.
