Peace Mural

PEACE Mural | 1996 | acrylic on stucco wall | 36’ x 36’ | Wilson Middle School | Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Peace Mural was about awareness to gang violence; anti-bullying practices; and the embrace of peace and harmony throughout the Albuquerque community. The symbolism of the white dove, along with the olive branch, represented peace, innocence, and love.

During the summer of 1996, Tracy worked for Natural High, a nonprofit organization managed by the University of New Mexico. Natural High was an after school creative arts and sports program in partnership with Albuquerque Public Schools. Tracy helped organize mural clubs at three separate middle schools; one of which was at Wilson Middle School.
